My Story - Verse Told

Wandering into the wilderness
( PART ONE – THE EVOLUTION OF CREATION )

Born, Dearly Born

Filled with Light
A Child beaming with the wonders and sparkles of Life
~ Tender Smiles ~
My tender smiles were released
Into a forest of wolves and bears

In the N.E. neighborhood of D.C.
Where I was raised
Someone always showed up to challenge you
Break you in ~ Smash your smile
As though happiness and wonderment were against the law
I was straining always for clarity about this puzzle
~ This MacBeth’s  bubble,  bubble, toil and trouble  ~
My Mother said someone hits you son
Ball-up your hand and hit them back
I had my share of fights and bully beatings
My Smile started hiding behind a frown
And the Frown slowly drowned the innocence of my childhood
My dear brightness got stuck behind some ghetto hood eclipse

I had sports dreams and hopes like a lot of boys
~ Football – Football  -Yes Football ~
Hoop-it-up tackle became the home to master the my skills of elusiveness
In the Hood – Athletes are prayers
~ Because Hope dares while Mama’s and Daddy’s Hearts stare ~
- Why Football -
~ Was it to demonstrate unafraidness ~
Yes and No
Run Child, Run, Runnnnnn
Joy Is Had ~ With the Victory of an avoided tackle
~ Fear is beat back ~

However the Promise Land of grind iron glory
Would be blocked at an early age – time and time again
~ The weight class changed in grade school – from qualified to not qualified ~
~ Then there was the small Catholic High School that could no longer afford the football program ~
~ Then the severe sprain of my ankle the night before my first start
at running back for the Boys Club team ~
Now!
Shy, Torn, Severally Bruised by Life’s Thorns
There were no mentoring or enrichment programs in the 60’s and 70’s
My innocence ~ My God Blessed innocence
A prisoner to some vicious monster that eats the joy out of life
~ 10 years old, 11 years old,12 years old,13,14,15,16 and it still goes on ~
Why?  Why Me? I didn’t strike the rock twice like Moses
So why am I in this wilderness of bones - circling in the burning desert of life.

Wandering into the wilderness
( PART TWO – THE DECAY OF CREATION )

The Soul of My Sorrows
How do I build the impenetrable fort
My inner tears are salty and sour because of the heartache years
Thus I find relief in my first taste of sweet wine
The corner drunks will buy it for us - for a bottle of cheap wine for themselves
Soak the sorrows – drown the bitter tears
~ Howl at the Moon ~
Pass that rifer joint, why not take an adventure into Jimmie Hendrix’s purple haze
Dreams become other dreams ~ Where weeds appear as flowers
Evidentially you become numb to the pricking thorns from the rose bush of life

And fairy tales grow from dim to dark ~ No more magical endings

The horror film features You the Monster ~ Chasing  ~ ~ ~ You

My Innocence is curled-up now deep inside of me
~ Crying and Praying ~
~ The Inner Prayers shouting at the Heavens ~
~ The Shouting at the Heavens growing weary with the years ~
~ The growing weary with the years choking you and draining hope from you ~
 Who bit who?
Did the vampire bite you or did you bite the vampire
It ~ ~ ~ No Longer Matters

I surrender and bow at the gates of Hell
Homeless – Hungry – Spiritually and emotionally malnourished
You’ve learn how to survive on the broth from a cup of bones
All the Good and Wholesome Dreams
Are circling around in the mazes of confusion deep inside of me
All career paths and marriages
Find there way to the dump heap
Either due to my own choices or life circumstances
It is the Life Circumstances that bewilder me the most
Whenever I strived and believed in God Blessed Hope
Some unexpected evidentially hunts me down
To Rip-up My Heart’s Beautiful Smile
~ Once Again ~
Why must I live out these unfortunate fates?
I just what to let the Light ~ Born in me ~ Live
Let It --- Celebrate --- Life
Wandering into the wilderness
( PART THREE – SANCTUARY’S OFFERINGS )

~ Rehab ~
Sometimes there is  a depressed relief in ‘ Once Again ‘
Depressed because you are so worn down
And relief awaits – for me
to get clarity of my goals to map a vision of the unseen mountain range
Then the first of the Great Ponderings occurs
~ Man! I am getting old ~
How much sweat? How much toil?
~ A Prayer ~
No! Many Prayers to refuel my spirit as challenges come
Wow! A Revelation revisiting ~ I am not a sports coupe anymore
Got to refurbish this hoopty of a body ~ Got to get ready for mountain climbing
~ A Prayer ~
Where Secret Tears purge fears
Me and God alone, Me and God alone
Mending and Defending the purity of my spirit
Me and God alone, Me and God alone
Evicting falsehoods and Arresting demons
Me and God alone, Me and God alone
Doing Battle with
TheThunder, The Rain and The Hurricanes waging havoc in the soul
Me and God alone, Me and God alone

Boston Mararthon Bombing ( A Link to 2nd Amendment )

This week has been another week of sorrow's blossoms in the heart. The Boston Marathon bombing has shaken the American public with hurt and it has strengthen our sight of caring. I have no poem called to birth in me about the Boston event, however I had this revelation of a link with the 2nd Amendment
debate issue. It was when watching the coordinated manhunt: the SWAT teams,
The local law enforcement and the local military diligent search and
eventual capture of the younger brother. The highly ignored first two phrases
of the 2nd Amendment ( A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State, ). That was the powerful images we witnessed
with law enforcement operating as a well regulated militia hunting down
and apprehending an individuals committing and threatening harm
in one of our cities and their communities. These are the images of common
sense control with the home owner contacting law enforcement of their
discovery in their backyard. Not the possibility of homeowners armed
to the maximum firepower freely roaming the streets in vengeful anger
to hunt down the perpetrators of the bombing. Can you imagine
if someone was mistakenly thought to be one of the brothers in
the world of the present mindset of radical gun supporters view;
a gun in every one will keep you safe. A well regulated militia
of our courageous and honored law enforcement. Thank You All.
Now we need some politicians courageous enough to do the right
thing so law enforcement does not encounter some angry person
with assault weapons and chest of ammo unleashing harm.

Unecssary Tears ( Part Two )

Unnecessary Tears - Part Two
I have not forgotten the feelings I had upon hearing about
the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. I was at my security post at work
and a quivering, sorrowful moment of grief reverberated through my body.
The same feelings and shock upon hearing about the shootings of
President Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. My heart is still
reverberating with grief for all of the families and victims of mass shootings
from Columbine to the present.

TWENTY – SIX
( IN HONOR OF THE SANDY HOOK ELEMEMNTARY VICTIMS )

TWENTY – SIX - - - FEET
TWENTY – SIX - - - HANDS
TWENTY – SIX - - - VOICES
TWENTY – SIX - - - FACES
TWENTY – SIX - - - SMILES
TWENTY – SIX VERSIONS OF ENTHUSIASM AND JOY

~ THEN ~
THERE WERE TWENTY – SIX BULLETS  THAT STOLE LIVES FROM CREATION
TIME REMOVED FROM THE CLOCK OF some BLOSSUMS in their BLOOMING
THEIR JEWELED MOMENTS
THEIR BASKING IN THE SUN
AS HONEYSUCKLES, ROSES, TULIPS, JUNIPERS, MUMS,
 ~ MAGNOLIAS ~
~ PLUCKED ~

TWENTY – SIX SHATTERING ECHOES RIPPLEING THROUGH A NATION’S SOUL
EARTHQUAKE RUMBLING HURT REVERBERATING TO THE MARROW OF THE BONE

IT MAY WELL BE A DAILY RITUAL – WHEN AN UNSCHEDULED MOMENT OF SILENCE
VISITS AND REVISITS THE LIVES OF THE FALLEN’S  FAMILY MEMBERS
WE SHOULD ALL COMMIT
A HEARTBEAT THAT TRUMPET’S  HONOR AND RESOLVE
A SANE, RATIONAL COURAGE THAT UNTANGLES SORROW
THEN WEAVES  NEW LIGHT INTO OUR LIVES

CATHEDRAL BELLS NATIONWIDE TOLLED TWENTY – SIX REVERENT TIMES
TWENTY – SIX NAMES  UTTERED WITH THE HOMAGE OF TAPS IN VOICES
AND BAGPIPERS EXTOL SORROWFUL NOTES OF PRAYERS
~ GOOD-BYE, GOOD-BYE ~
~ GOOD-LOVLY-TENDER-PRECIOUS - GOOD-BYE ~

TWENTY – SIX MORE STARS ARE ILLUMINATING IN THE SAPPHIRE OCEAN OF THE DIVINE
My Heart will beat with a reverent awe every time I look at the night sky

Unnecessary Tears

Unecessary Tears
You, Me. We can not replace a life as precious and pure as a child
killed in an act of unnecessary violence. The First Lady, Michelle Obama's
speech yesterday to some Chicago business and civic leaders was full of the
deep emotion running through so many of us. The President made it all to
clear to understand another's grief regarding the Sandy Hook Elementary
victims families on the matter of Senate and Congressional members not
moving forward to craft and vote on the obvious. Sunday on 60 Minutes
I could not fathom myself personnally being able to look
the Sandy Hook Family's in the eye and not wanting to give all of my heart to support.

The Falsehoods espoused by radical 2nd Amendment supporters bears to proof
in reading the 2nd Amendment statement for yourself.
The opening phrases clarify and cement the complete purpose
of our 2nd Amendment.

 2nd Amendment Text
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

 THE UNNECESSARY TEARS

( IN HONOR OF HADIYA PENDELTON )
( Shot and died days after performing with High School band at President Obama’s 2nd Inauguration )

The Precious Child, Her Brilliantly Soft Wonderful Light

The Emanating of Warmth and Joy

~ Her Mother’s  Jewel, The God Child ~
~ A Sunlight and Moonlight Beam  Sparkle of Life~
That is the dazzle we are honored to witness in their eyes and their smiles

We morn the flower torn from the bush – Thrown to the ground

We morn the seed cast into the scorching desert – Never to behold it’s fruited dreams

We morn the field of grass trampled by muddy boots

We morn the sunlight and moonlight torn from the sky in our hearts

~ The Rainfall ~

Who continues to questioned the question
When the answered has slapped us a thousand times over

To many lives not born with the purpose of a violent end

The answer explodes upon us in a multitude pleading tears

~ Stop the Violence ~
Stop injecting the venom of a deluded, angry passion
We do not shake the hand of a child just to give it a gun
Just to leave
Unexplained
that anger and differences do not mean ~Kill

2nd Amendment - Revelations for Common Sense

2ND AMENDMENT (Revelations)
In the intense discussion on common sense gun control legislation the 2nd Amendment
Rights political leadership has heralded strongly that our Founding Fathers gave us the
right to bear arms. What political leader or 2nd Amendment supporter can look the victims
of gun violence or mass shooting incidents in the eyes of their immense grief and state
enough has been done already in our existing legislation?

Revelation: When our Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution America was mostly a
a frontier land and farming society; Hunting and herding livestock was the primary choice
of subsistence, while the only firearms available was the flintlock musket and pistol.

Perspective: Surely they did not envision a society of supermarkets and shopping malls,
an electronic world of cell phones and the internet and cable television and news and information
instantly available 24 hours a day.

 2nd Amendment Text
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Revelation: America’s well-regulated militia is our Armed Services and the National Guard.
Who in situations of domestic civil unrest are given orders to maintain marshal law.
The 13 colonies were establishing our rights of preparation against any threatening
countries on America’s freedom. 2nd Amendment radical supporters always leave the first
part of the 2nd Amendment text out of their conversation – ( A well regulated Militia, ) which
is the primary purpose and focus of the statement.

Perspective: Once again I must reiterate they were armed with flintlocks: muskets and pistols.
I do not believe Our Founding Fathers would have been fervent in allowing
any and all citizens to purchase and own military combat style created firearm weapons.
As to the 2nd Amendment leadership and the radical supporters who herald the use
of high capacity automatic weapon for self defense or security from a tyrannical government.
The stark truth is this present’s a situation is a potential for anarchy.

Conclusion:
I and many Americans are puzzled and sicken by radical 2nd Amendment supporters that things are just fine,
The leave us alone mentality to anyone threatening their paranoia of a tyrannical government, which is
out to subvert their machismo regarding an obsession with weapons. It goes beyond any rational thinking.
Especially after several mass shootings incidents that have left the families of love ones
with unimaginable fissures grief  on the landscape of their lives.
These radicals roar with a stubborn anger, however if the shoe was on the other foot and they lost
A love one in some random act of madness. Would their mentality, their heartache
Be dismissed from their own personal grief as this is America stuff happens or possibly
Worst would such individuals proclaim that it is their right to take matters into their own hands.
Who would deny rational gun control legislation and enforcement power especially the
banning of high capacity magazines for firearms and the general public sale of assault type firearms.
Shall we reenter the 20’s and 30’s era of mobsters and mafia or a simply return
to the ways of the lawlessness wild west. Where have we gone astray
as a society that we can move on quickly from tragedy that has not personally touched our lives.
My mother always said until you can imagine walking in the shoes of someone struggling
do not dismiss their pain. I feel their tears each and every time there is political ballyhoo
spewing the fever of blocking any common sense legislation. My final revelation is
Thomas Paine ignited the populace of the 13 colonies with his publication of Common Sense.

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT - National Day of Prayer

The Tapestry of a Moment ( Narrative ):
There is a quagmire of tensions muddling the political, economic and social landscapes
of  America’s society. The events of today have pooled into the creation of a moment
in history. It is not hard to recognize that a movement, a significant birthing of a consciousness
is pleading for acknowledgement. The tapestry of a moment goes beyond the singularity
of one event impacting reaction. 911 was the meteor that stroke the surface of America’s freedom,
the Columbine, Aurora, Sandy Hook and others mass shooting incidents were mortar shells that ripped open communities sanctity of happiness.
The Afghanistan and Iraq wars have dismembered the lives of all to many of our
honored armed services personnel. The auto industry and wall street and home foreclosure catastrophes
are the open wounds on our free enterprise system. The many natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina,
the tornadoes that devastated Joplin, Missouri, and Hurricane Sandy are some of the occurrences
which have forced states and communities to  drastically survive and rebuild.

The nation is struggling to see its way clear of one event before another event rises to impede
progress. In our personal lives repetitive occurrences of significant challenges leads many of us
to fell overwhelmed. Many of us are compiled to seek strength and refuge in prayer.
The National Day of Prayer is May 2,2013. This is a day for people of all faiths in America
To gather at their churches, their temples, the synagogues and various venues and intently pray
For the country. The most powerful experience I had personally was a 24 hour prayer marathon.
I would like to urge faith communities to engage in a profoundly deeper experience
of a 72 hour prayer marathon. A prayer marathon is conducted by set aside a place
were people commit to be a scheduled prayer participant for one hour and thus continuously
hour upon hour. For us who are Christian this type of prayerful commitment gives significance
to the Passion Of Christ. Three days of intent holy focus I strongly believe is a greater sacrifice
of our hearts and minds to invoke God’s guidance and covenant blessings upon our society
and today’s world. One day touches only the surface  of our concerns,
a second day begins to usher in a baptismal like spirit  and cleansing for the right hopes.
And a third day holds the significance of a God  assured receiving our supplications and the impact
guidiance and change for ourselves, for our communities, for our country.
Our nation is in need of a Gethsemane moment of prayerful sweat and tears.
Thus I share with you a poem: The Tapestry of a Moment.

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT
THE HISTORY OF A PRAYER
THE DOME OF REVERENT SILENCE SLOWLY COVERS AND SHIELDS OUR MINDS AND OUR HEARTS
~ SUPPLICATIONS ARE STIRRING ~
~ THE THUMPING, WHISPERING RENDERINGS  OF A SOUL ~ UTTERS ~
~ THE LORD IS MY SHEPERD ~

MY ROCK TO STAND UPON
TO PROVIDE ME CLEAR VISION OF THE DIRECTION UPON WHICH GOD IS LEADING ME
MY FORTRESS
PROTECTING ME FROM UNSEEN FORCES DETERMINED TO HINDER ME, CRIPPLE ME
TO DISABLE MY SPIRIT FROM ITS SIGNIFICANT AND MINUTE GOD CREATED PURPOSE
MY REFUGE
THE SPIRITUAL BOSSUM TO REST MY WEARY HEAD
~ THE GREEN PASTURES, THE STILL WATERS ~
MY INNER SPIRIT’S SAILS SWEETLY FILLED WITH THE BREEZE OF COMFORT

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT
THE HISTORY OF A PRAYER
THE SANCTUARY OF INNER STRENGTH CHIMMING
REVERBERTIONS RESOUNDING

~ FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU ( AMERICA) ~
~ DECLARES THE LORD. ~
~ PLANS TO PROSPER YOU AND NOT HARM YOU ( AMERICA ) ~
~ PLANS TO GIVE YOU HOPE AND A FUTURE ( AMERICA ). ~
~ THEN YOU WILL CALL UPON ME AND COME AND PRAY TO ME ( AMERICA ), ~
~ AND I WILL LISTEN TO YOU (AMERICA ) ~
~ YOU WILL SEEK ME AND FIND ME (AMERICA ) ~
~ WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART. ~
< JEREMIAH 29:11-13 >

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT
THE HISTORY OF A PRAYER

THE SPIRIT AND SOUL SEEKING REFUGE

THE TEARS OF TRAGEDY OVERFLOWING FROM THE WELLS OF OUR DAILY LIVES
THE PULSE OF SORROW ON THE RISE
THE UTTERANCE FROM A PEOPLE BEING IGNORED
LIKE A BETHLEHEM DIVINE – STARRY NIGHT
THE EXPECTED PARENTS FINDING NO VACANCYS IN THE INNS

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT
THE HISTORY OF A PRAYER
TEARDROPS BECKONING US TO REALIZE
A LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING OF ALL OF US
THIS IS WHERE OUR PEACE AND HAPPINESS LAYS
THE FEARFUL, THE ANGRY - ONLY GOD CAN RECTIFY THEIR MINDS
SO LET OUR SPIRITS UNITE AND SURRENDER TO THE MIGHT OF PRAYER

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT
THE HISTORY OF A PRAYER
~ THE LORD IS MY SHEPERD ~
AND I WEAR THE FAULTS OF IMPERFECTIONS,
PROJECTED PRECEPTIONS AND JUDGEMENTS
AND I AM NOT ALONE IN MY REDEMPTIONS
AND SPIRITUAL POVERTY HAS ITS OWN UNFATHOMABLE CONSEQUENCES
YET

SWEETLY, ASSUREDLY

THE SOUL OF MY HEART KNOWS ITS ORIGIN
SO IN PRAYER ~ I CALL HOME
( THE LORD IS NEAR TO ALL WHO CALL UPON HIM )
( TO ALL WHO CALL UPON HIM IN TRUTH )
< PSALM 145:18 >

THE TRUTH OF LOVE
THE TRUTH OF JOY
THE TRUTH OF PEACE
THE TRUTH OF PATIENCE
THE TRUTH OF KINDNESS
THE TRUTH OF GOODNESS
THE TRUTH OF SELF-CONTROL
THIS IS THE SEARING IN THE BONES WHEN I CALL HOME

THE TAPESTRY OF A MOMENT
THE HISTORY OF A PRAYER
( LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND…)
( IT ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUST, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSERVERES )
( LOVE NEVER FAILS )
